FAQs

1.       What’s happened to the Ramp Safety Awards?
“The Ramp Safety Awards have been incorporated into a broader celebration of industry excellence as part of GHI’s Pride of Ground Handling Awards. We will continue to celebrate the sector’s commitment to world-class safety standards. However, following industry feedback – we felt the time was right to expand the scope of GHI’s Awards to include other areas of ground service excellence such as harnessing employee-led innovation and adding value to airline customers.

Ramp Safety is now a prestigious category award within a broader awards scheme. We encourage you to submit your safety focused submissions to this category or if your employees have demonstrated a safety awareness they can also be entered for the Unsung Hero or Rising Star Awards where applicable. Safety will always be a cornerstone of the GHI Pride of Ground Handling Awards.

2.       Do I have to pay to enter?
“No, all entries are free.”

3.       Do I pay to attend the awards ceremony?
“Not if you are already attending GHI’s Annual Conference. If you are not a delegate to our annual conference then we offer a number of competitive pricing options to be there on the night.

4.       Can I enter more than one category?
“Yes, you can enter multiple categories. But, you can’t enter more than three submissions from your company into each category.”

5.       Are the awards region specific?
“No, these are a global awards. You can enter from Europe, Asia, the Americas, Africa or Australasia. The criteria are quality/value add; teamwork/leadership; safety and passion for the sector. Geography is irrelevant to your entry’s chances of winning.

6.       Can smaller operators enter?
“Absolutely, we actively encourage entry from GSPs and airlines of all different sizes. Again, your entry will be judged on your ability to meet our awards criteria not on the size of your global footprint.”

7.       Can I enter myself?
“Yes, you can nominate yourself or on behalf of a colleague.”
